BOULDER, Colo. -The Oklahoma State women's soccer team (7-2-1 overall, 1-0-1 Big 12) tied the University of Colorado (3-5-2 overall, 1-0-1 Big 12), 1-1 in overtime in Big 12 action Sunday afternoon in Boulder, Colo.
Both teams battled to a scoreless draw in the first half before senior midfielder Melissa Wykes scored at the 51:30 mark in the second half to give OSU a 1-0 lead. Wykes netted her seventh goal of the season off a rebounded shot that hit the goalpost.
OSU would hold the lead until Colorado forward Melissa Cartmell scored with less than five minutes remaining in regulation, tying the score at 1-1.
Senior goalkeeper Chrystal Emerson recorded nine saves off of 16 shots.
The Cowgirls went into overtime in both of their matches on the road trip over the weekend and are 1-1-1 in extra period matches this year.
Oklahoma State will return home to face Kansas (5-5 overall, 1-0 Big 12) in conference action on Friday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. at the OSU Soccer Complex.
