AMES, Iowa - The Oklahoma State women's soccer team (7-6-2, 1-4-2 Big 12) fell to Big 12 foe Iowa State, 2-1, Friday evening at the ISU Soccer Complex in Ames, Iowa.
The Cowgirls played without two starters, forward Andrea Larsen and defender Myszka Paprocki, both of whom were sidelined due to injury.
Both teams battled to a scoreless draw in the first half before Iowa State got on the board when midfielder Lindsey Rector scored at the 55:51 mark, giving the Cyclones a 1-0 advantage.
Oklahoma State came back to tie the game in the 63rd minute when Missy Moss netted her fifth goal of the season on a one-on-one breakaway past the ISU goalkeeper.
"Cyclone forward Erica Florez then scored the gamewinner with less than 13 minutes remaining, to give Iowa State (8-6-2, 3-4 Big 12) its first ever victory over the Cowgirls in three opportunities."
With the loss, OSU has now gone 0-5-2 in its last seven games, five of which have extended into overtime. During that span, the Cowgirls have lost only one contest by more than a goal.
Oklahoma State will finish its four-game road swing when they tackle No. 10 Nebraska on Sunday, Oct. 25, at 1 p.m. in Lincoln, Neb.
