Track & Field Hits the Road

STILLWATER, Okla. - Most of Oklahoma State's men's track team will make the trek to Norman, Okla., on Saturday for the John Jacobs Invitational, while five other athletes are going to Eugene, Ore., to compete in the Hayward Relays.
Ren Carlsen, Gitogo Churu and Nathaniel Lane will lead the charge at the meet down in Norman, hosted by the University of Oklahoma.
Carlsen and Lane, along with four other Cowboys, will compete in the 1,500 meter. Churu is scheduled to run in the 3,000m.
The men's field events commence at 9 a.m. Preliminary track events are scheduled to start at 10 a.m. with finals beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Coach Dick Weis will take five Cowboys to compete in two events while at the Hayward Relays, hosted by the University of Oregon.
Chuck Sloan will compete in the 3,000m steeplechase. He's trying to make a repeat bid for All-American honors in the event. This will be the first time he has competed in the steeplechase since the OSU Duals, which kicked off the outdoor season. The event is scheduled to start at 1:15 p.m.
Andrew Hennessy, Cam Katchuck, Staffan Stegmark and Brian Young will team up to compete in the distance medley relay. The Cowboys earned All-American honors in the event during the indoor season. The DMR is scheduled to start at 2:05 p.m.
