Rookies Report for OSU Football

STILLWATER, Okla. - Twenty-seven first-year players reported for pre-season workouts today as the Oklahoma State football team prepares to begin its fall workouts.
The Cowboys' rookies are scheduled for a welcome meeting this evening and physicals Wednesday morning before hitting the practice field for the first time Wednesday afternoon. The 2:45 p.m. practice is open to the public.
The freshmen and first-year transfers will practice twice Thursday, and the team's veterans report Friday. The complete team will take part in its first combined workout Saturday; after taking Sunday off for a day at Oklahoma City's Frontier City, the team will begin three-a-day practices Monday and continue all of next week.
"We are really excited to get this class here and get started," said Cowboys Coach Bob Simmons. "Just like the last three, I believe this is an outstanding group."
Media day is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at Lewis Field. The Cowboys open their season with a Sept. 5 game at Kansas.
