Oklahoma State Shuts Out Centenary, 6-0

STILLWATER, Okla.-- The Oklahoma State womens soccer team (7-1) is now off to its best start in school history with a 6-0 shutout of Centenary College Sunday afternoon at the OSU Soccer Complex.
OSU used a balanced offensive attack as six different Cowgirls netted goals.
Senior midfielder Melissa Wykes scored for the sixth straight game, placing her in a tie for eight all-time in NCAA history.
OSU opened the scoring 2:50 into the game when Mercy Morrical notched her first goal of the season off an assist by Andi Lute.
Less than two minutes later at the 4:38 mark, sophomore Julie Harris recorded her first goal of the season off another feed from Lute to give the Cowgirls a 2-0 advantage.
Missy Moss, Andi Lute and Teri Marcum would also record goals in the first half as OSU led 5-0 at halftime.
Wykes would score her seventh goal of the season at the 54:45 mark in the second half to finish off the scoring.
Goalkeepers Chrystal Emerson and Katy Johnson would combine to record the Cowgirls third shutout of the year.
Centenary was paced offensively by Janelle Cockerham who had three shots on goal.
The Cowgirls won all four-games of their home stand and will go on the road for a pair of games next weekend. OSU will play Denver on Fri., Oct. 2 at 4 p.m. and will then open its Big 12 schedule against Colorado on Sun., Oct. 4 at 1 p.m.
