Oklahoma State Opens NCAA Tournament with Bonus Points

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Oklahoma State won 8-of-9 first round matches, and scored bonus points in six of their wins to surge into the lead at the NCAA Wrestling Championships at Penn State University, after the first round.
The Cowboys got falls from Dave Anderton and Mark Munoz and received technical falls from Mark Smith and Eric Guerrero. Teague Moore and Reggie Wright each earned a bonus point with a major decision. Falls are worth two points, technical falls are worth 1.5 and a major decision receives a single point.
Jimmy Arias won his pigtail match and then proceeded to get a win in the first round. Ty Wilcox won his first match at the NCAAs with a 5-0 win.
The only Cowboy to lose in the opening round was Charles Walker, who lost a 5-3 decision in overtime.
