Men's Golf in Fourth at Big 12 Championship

HUTCHINSON, Kan. - The sixth-ranked OSU men's golf team is in fourth place after today's first round of the Big 12 Championship.
Freshman Charles Howell battled the day's tough conditions to stand in fourth place individually with 18 holes left to be played Monday and 18 more Tuesday.
As a team, OSU is six strokes behind first-round leader Texas A&M, which shot a 26-over-par 306 to take the early lead. Texas is second at 307, and Oklahoma is third at 311.
Sophomore Edward Loar, the 10th-ranked individual in the nation, joined Howell in the top 20 as he carded a 7-over-par 77. Boyd Summerhays (26th with an 80), Bo Van Pelt (32nd, 81) and Landry Mahan (52nd, 87) rounded out the OSU lineup.
