Lamont Matthews Named National Baseball Player Of The Week

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State outfielder Lamont Matthews was named Louisville Slugger's National Player of the Week for his Most Valuable Player performance at the NCAA Regional in Wichita, Kan., over the weekend.
Matthews went 13-for-20 with five homers, three doubles, 13 RBIs and 10 runs scored in five games last week.
The Petersburg, Va., native was recently named a third team All-American by Collegiate Baseball.
The junior is currently batting .387 with 27 homers, 15 doubles, seven triples and 99 RBIs in 62 games. His 99 runs batted in also set a new Big 12 record for RBIs in a season, breaking the old mark of 93 set by former Cowboy Rusty McNamara in 1997.
