Josh Holliday Named Third Team GTE Academic All-American

STILLWATER, Okla. - Senior Josh Holliday added another honor to his long list of awards as he was named to the GTE Academic All-American Third Team for his excellence in the classroom.
Holliday, a first team All-Big 12 selection at third base, boasted a 3.42 grade point average in health promotions and was also named to the District VI Academic team last month.
The Stillwater, Okla., native is a four-time Academic All-Conference selection and was recently named Oklahoma State's Male Student-Athlete of the Year.
The senior is currently batting .299 with 14 homers and 62 RBIs and set an NCAA tournament record with six walks in a game against Oral Roberts last Saturday.
Other notable players recieving Academic All-American plaudits include pitcher/designated hitter Jason Jennings (first team) and outfielder Jon Topolski (second team) of Baylor, outfielders Aaron Runk (first team) and Erik Mumm (first team) from Iowa State and Nebraska and reliever Marc Bluma (second team) from Wichita State.
