Head Coach John Smith Announces Spring Signees

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State wrestling coach John Smith has announced the signing of four student-athletes to the Cowboy program.
The Cowboys signed three wrestlers from the state of Oklahoma, including two from powerhouse El Reno. Chad Whitney and Jerrod Sanders both come to the Cowboys from El Reno and Josh Posey comes to the Pokes from Yukon.
Whitney is expected to be a 149-pounder for the Cowboys. He was a three-time state champion and was touted as a high school All-American.
Posey will wrestle at 157 pounds after a stellar career at Yukon. His best finish in state was a second place finish as a sophomore. He placed second at the Reno Tournament of Champions as a junior and a senior.
Sanders was a three-time state finalist and one-time champion at 140 pounds in high school.
Also inking with the Cowboys was David Anderton of Ricks Junior College in Utah. Ogden placed third and second in the past two seasons as a heavyweight at the NJCAA Championships. He is expected to take over the heavyweight spot vacated by graduating senior Ben Lee.
These four join three other wrestlers that signed in the fall signing period. Those included Shane Roller of Bixby, Stephen Bradley of Beech Grove, Ind., and Reggie Wright of Lassen Junior College.
