Distance Medley Takes First, Gets Ready for Nationals

AMES, Iowa - Oklahoma State's men's distance medley relay team improved its standing in the national rankings at the Cyclone National Qualifier here today.
The Cowboy team of Andrew Hennessy (800m), Cam Katchuck (400m), Chuck Sloan (1,600m) and Brian Young (1,200m) finished the race first in 9:36.67, beating their previous best of 9:47.53 set last weekend at the Big 12 Indoor Championships.
The Cowboys' mark currently ranks as the second-best time nationally in the distance medley this season.
For the rest of the field, Oregon came in second in the race with a time of 9:37.25, and Tulsa finished in third at 9:37.95. Illinois State placed fourth with a time of 9:38.78, while Oregon's B team rounded out the field in fifth at 10:12.21.
OSU next heads to the NCAA Championships on March 5-6 at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis.
