Cowgirls Come Up Short at Wildcat Invitational

Stillwater, Okla. - With a strong team effort the Oklahoma State Cowgirls finished third in the Wildcat Invitational in Manhattan, Kan. on Friday.
Kansas State took home first place honors with 138 points followed by Nebraska at 135 and Oklahoma State with 55 points.
Leading the way for the Cowgirls was junior Hanna Smedstad who won the mile run in a time of 5:01.43. Her nearest competitor was Jenna Lucas of Nebraska who was well off the pace at 5:18.33.
In the triple jump, an eleven year old school record fell as Melinda Jackson jumped 40-3.25 and finished second.
Megan Robbins once again rewrote the school record books. Breaking her own school record in the pole vault with a jump of 11-01.75 that was good enough for a second place finish.
Two other Cowgirls also turned in impressive proformances in the 55 meter hurdles with Tiffany Davis and Stephani Duff finishing tied for second place with a time of 8.44.
Oklahoma State's 4X400 meter relay team finished second behind KSU with a time of 4:01.77.
OSU freshman Andrea Holloway had a strong preformance in the shot put with a throw of 47-3.75 and a second place finish. Nancy Guillen finished fifth in the weight throw and broke her own school record with a throw of 51-05.5.
