Cowgirls Polish Off Regular Season

The Week Ahead: The Oklahoma State women's soccer team (7-7-2; 1-5-2 Big 12) hopes that a return back home will reverse the team's recent fortunes when the Cowgirls tangle with Texas A&M and Texas this weekend. OSU will host the Aggies on Friday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. before finishing the season against Texas on Sunday, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m.
Last Week: Oklahoma State lost a pair of Big 12 contests on the road last weekend. The Cowgirls were edged by Iowa State, 2-1, last Friday in Ames, Iowas and were shutout by No. 10 Nebraska, 4-0, last Sunday in Lincoln, Neb.
Iowa State led 1-0 in the second half before forward Missy Moss scored her fifth goal of the season to tie the game with 27 minutes remaining. The Cyclones then scored the gamewinner at the 77 minute mark to improve to 3-0 all-time against Oklahoma State.
Nebraska shutout OSU for the second time in the Cowgirls last three contests and pushed its series lead to 3-0. The four Cornhusker goals were the most scored on OSU since NU scored four against them on Oct. 24, 1997, in Stillwater.
About Texas A&M: Texas A&M is 10-6-0 on the year and 5-2-0 in Big 12 play. The Aggies are ranked fourth in the Central Region and are led in scoring by midfielder Nicky Thrasher who has scored nine goals with three assists on the season.
Texas A&M holds a 2-0 series lead over OSU and defeated the Cowgirls, 3-0, last season in College Station.
About Texas: Texas is 6-6-2 on the season and 4-1-2 in Big 12 action. The Longhorns are ranked ninth in the Central Region and are led in scoring by midfielder Katie Baruth who has netted six goals and five assists on the year.
Texas holds a 2-0 series lead and shutout the Cowgirls, 8-0, last season in Austin.
Cowgirl Notes: Forward Andrea Larsen and defender Myszka Paprocki missed the last two games due to injury ... A note on the Cowgirls seven losses this season: four have been by one goal, three have been in overtime, two have come against Top 25 ranked teams ... goalkeeper Chrystal Emerson is fifth in the conference with a 1.47 goals against average and Melissa Wykes is eighth in scoring with 18 points ... The Cowgirls are 5-1-1 at the OSU Soccer Complex this season ... A split this weekend will ensure a non-losing season for the third straight year ... All fans wearing black and orange to the Texas A&M match on Friday will get in free; the first 200 get koozies and candy ... Fans bringing their ticket stub from the OSU-Texas A&M football game get into Sunday's match against Texas for free.
Seniors Last Stand: Sunday's contest marks the final contest for four Cowgirl seniors. Midfielder Missy Caldwell, goalkeeper Chrystal Emerson, defender Emily Morgan and midfielder Melissa Wykes will each be recognized in a special ceremony prior to the game against Texas.
