Cowgirls Dominate OSU Duals

STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma State Cowgirls dominated the seven team field at the OSU Duals on Friday and Saturday.
In the first event of the competition, the hammer. Cowgirl freshman, Nancy Guillen blew the competition away with a throw of 58.60 meters or 193'4.5''. Her mark would of provisionally qualified her for nationals but, wind was not measured so the throw don't officially count. Vanessa Wilhelm finished fourth in the event with a throw of 38.92 meters.
The Cowgirls' Melinda Jackson also lost out on qualifying for nationals in the triple jump because of the wind. Her jump of 12.65 meters not only would have qualified her for the NCAA Outdoor Championships but, did set a school outdoor record.
The 4X100m relay team had a strong finish as they ran 47.16 winning the event. The team consisted of Krystal Beamon, Sherita Jackson, NaTasha Santee and Melinda Jackson.
The 400m dash also saw a Cowgirl take home top honors. Two-time All-American Sherita Jackson won in a time of 56.24.
Freshman hurdler, Tiffany Davis won the 100m hurdles in a time of 14.26 with teammate Stephani Duff finishing fifth in 15.5.
Alexandra Lindquist continued her winning ways by breezing to a first place finish in the 3,000m in 10:09.34.
Wilhelm, rounded out a impressive individual performance by winning the javelin with a throw 40.64 meters.
