Cowgirls Compete in Sooner Classic

NORMAN, Okla. -Falling just short of provisionally qualifying for nationals, freshman Nancy Guillen took home top honors in the 20-pound weight throw at Saturday's Sooner Classic.
With her throw of 57-5.5 Guillen topped her previous best while breaking her Cowgirl record in the process.
Junior, two-time All-American Sherita Jackson posted her best time of the season while finishing third with a time of 24.33. She still needs to break the 24.25 barrier to qualify for the NCAA's.
Melinda Jackson also broke her school record in the triple jump and won the event with a jump of 41-3.
The Cowgirls will venture to Manhattan, Kan. on March 19-20 for the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships.
