Cowboys Finish Fourth at U.S. Collegiate Golf Championship

LECANTO, Fla. - Fifth-ranked Oklahoma State carded a 2-under-par 286 in Sunday's final round to finish fourth at the U.S. Collegiate Golf Championship.
Edward Loar's second-round 69, sandwiched between opening and closing even-par 72s, helped him to a ninth-place individual finish, best among the OSU players.
The Cowboys were unable to crack the top three in team scores although four players - Loar, Charles Howell (13th with a score of 214), Anders Hultman (18th, 216) and Landry Mahan (18th, 216) - finished among the top 20 individually. Nick Seymour, who rounded out the OSU lineup in 56th place at 235, had his best round of the tournament with a 71 Sunday.
UNLV, continuing a recent hot streak, took home the team trophy with an 11-stroke victory over second-place Minnesota. The Rebels carded an impressive 25-under-par score of 839; OSU's fourth-place total of 855 was just one stroke behind third-place Arizona State.
