Cowboys Complete Final Day of NCAA Track Championships

BOISE, Idaho - Chuck Sloan repeated as an All-American as he finished fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on the final day of the 78th annual NCAA Championships here today.
Sloan's 8:49.76 put him in fifth place. He finished behind the Colorado duo of Adam Batliner and Tom Reese. Batliner finished with a time of 8:46.33, while Reese crossed the line in 8:47.29.
Arkansas' Matt Kerr won the national title with a time of 8:44.29. The top eight athletes in each event are awarded All-America honors.
Sloan was able to move up one spot from last year's sixth-place finish.
Andrew Hennessy, who competed against Sloan in Thursday's heat, did not make the finals cut after the semifinals race.
