Cowboy Track Showing Promise

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Oklahoma State men's track and field team traveled to Southwest Missouri State over the weekend to take part in the Big Bear Invitational.
Sophomores Chuck Sloan, Ben Phillips and junior Gitogo Churu stepped up to lead the Cowboys in their second outing of the outdoor season.
Sloan did not participate in his specialty event, the 3,000m steeplechase. He did participate in the 1,500m run, taking home the individual title in a time of 3:53.16.
Sophomore newcomer Ben Phillips joined Sloan in the 1,500m, finishing second in a time of 3:55.94. Phillips also ran a strong 800m, finishing second in a time of 1:55.89.
Junior Gitogo Churu stepped into the 3,000m steeplechase this week, coming home with a second place finish in a time of 9:26.83.
