Baseball Holds Off Missouri

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.- Oklahoma State (38-18) held off Missouri 11-8, Friday afternoon in a Big 12 Tournament elimination game. Missouri scored seven runs after being down 10-1, in the third inning.
Oklahoma State started off quickly, scoring three runs in the second inning off a pair of sacrifice flies by Billy Gasparino and Tony Roossien. In the inning there were three hits and an error.
The Cowboys would explode in the third with one of the team's most impressive offensive innings of the season by scoring seven runs on eight hits, including six consecutive hits, all of which were singles, by Cowboy hitters. The last Cowboy run was a solo home run by Roossien in the sixth.
Missouri began to cut into the Cowboys' lead in the fourth with three runs. Aaron Wilson hit a two-run double, and Jake Epstein had an RBI single in the fifth. In the seventh, The Tigers posted three more runs off a pair of homers from Epstein and Griffin Moore.
Oklahoma State's Thom Dreier came on in relief in the seventh, holding the Tigers to two hits and striking out six.
Oklahoma State will play Oklahoma on Saturday, May 16, at 3 p.m. in another elimination game. The Sooners advanced Friday with a 10-4 victory over top-seeded Texas A&M.
