Baseball Announces Changes to '99 Schedule
June 21, 1999 | Cowboy Baseball
January 26, 1999
STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma State baseball team announced three changes to its 1999 schedule, including opening day.
Due to a scheduling conflict, the Cowboys will open the season against Missouri Southern on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 12:30 p.m. The game was originally set for February 6 at 3 p.m. but Missouri Southern had a conflict with a contest against Arkansas scheduled the same day.
"It's unfortunate the date was changed, but we hope fans will come out on Sunday and watch us play and then go over to Gallagher-Iba and watch the Cowboy wrestlers take on Oklahoma," said head coach Tom Holliday.
To make up for the change on Saturday, the Cowboys will play a Orange-Black intrasquad scrimmage at 3 p.m.
In addition to the opening day change, Oklahoma State and Oral Roberts have changed their two-game home and home series to an Oklahoma City-Tulsa neutral site matchup. The two teams will tangle at the Southwestern Bell Bricktown Ballpark on March 31 at 6 p.m. before moving to Drillers Stadium on April 7 at 6 p.m.
"This is an exciting change to our schedule and we are looking forward to two quality matchups against Oral Roberts," added Holliday.
New Schedule Dates:
Feb. 7 Missouri Southern 12:30 p.m. Mar. 31 vs. Oral Roberts (Oklahoma City- Bricktown) 6 p.m. April 7 vs. Oral Roberts (Tulsa- Drillers Stadium) 6 p.m.
