OSU Coach Bob Simmons
On OSU's turnovers
"No turnovers help our cause. One of the problems that we've had throughout
the season is interchanging that offensive line. That's not the first time
that it's happened during the season. That's been one of our problems this
year - untimely turnovers. That's been our nemesis."
On changes in the offensive line
"We had to. Adam Davis didn't play today. He was out. Our right tackle
went out, so we had to switch the right tackle which was Josh Lind to center
and move our center, Reynell Lavigne, to guard to give us some stability on
offense. We had not a makeshift line, but a line that probably wasn't our
best. Based on the injuries that we have right now, that was one of the
things that we had to do."
On Nathan Simmons' injury
"I think he got his leg bent on a tackle. But at the same time, we were in
a formation where he was used as a blocker anyhow and that's why he didn't
play. His leg got stiff."
On Marcellus Rivers' performance
"I thought he made some good catches today in terms of what we were doing
and some play action. He's been a guy that we count on to make big plays,
and he's made some big plays for us."
On penalties hurting OSU's momentum
"Any penalty on a punt return is going to change field position. We got
great field position. We always instruct our players on the right position
to be in."
On Texas' 80-yard run to begin the game
"Did we want that to happen? No. That's why we deferred. I think other
that that, our defense for the most part played a pretty good football game.
He's (Hodges Mitchell) a good back. They blocked him perfectly, I'm
assuming. He took it all the way. That didn't lose the ball game for us."
