Howell Named Men's Award Winner For October

PRINCETON, N.J. - Oklahoma State University junior Charles Howell (Augusta, Georgia) and University of Tulsa sophomore Stacy Prammanasudh (Enid, Oklahoma) have been named the Rolex College Golfers of the Month for October, after both won individual titles at Rolex Collegiate Tour events last month.
Howell, who was also named the Rolex College Golfer of the Month in September 1998, won the individual medalist honors at the Jerry Pate National Collegiate Invitational. He fired a 12-under par 201 (68-66-67), while leading Oklahoma State to a fifth place finish. Howell also finished fourth at the Taylor Made Red River Classic. He shot 68-68-66 (202, -14) while leading the Cowboys to the team title, their first Rolex Collegiate Tour win this season. Howell, who was ranked No. 3 in the latest edition of the MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings, tallied a stroke average of 67.17 for the month (six rounds).
Prammanasudh, who was also selected as the Rolex College Golfer of the Month last February, won the individual medalist honors at the Stanford/Pepsi Intercollegiate. She fired a six-under par 210 (73-66-71) while leading Tulsa to the team title. Prammanasudh also finished second at the Washington Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational. She shot a one-under par 215 (72-72-71) while leading the Golden Hurricane to a fourth place finish. Ranked No. 9 in the November 2nd edition of the MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings, Prammanasudh finished the month with a stroke average of 70.83 (six rounds).
The Rolex College Golfer of the Month award is voted on by members of the College Golf Foundation's Golfer of the Month Committee. The award is based primarily on results from Rolex Collegiate Tour events, plus conference championships, NCAA Regionals and the NCAA Championships. Each winner will receive a certificate from the College Golf Foundation in recognition of this honor.
The Rolex College Golfer of the Month award is administered by the College Golf Foundation, a non-profit organization, founded with the corporate support of Rolex Watch U.S.A. and also sustained by an alliance with MasterCard International, dedicated to the growth and promotion of men's and women's collegiate golf.
