STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State baseball announced the signings of two pitchers from the Oklahoma City area, lefthanders Shane Hawk of Midwest City and Bryan Weaver of Yukon.
Head coach Tom Holliday was pleased with the two additions to the Cowboy baseball program for the 2001 season. "Both Shane and Bryan will help reload our pitching staff and should challenge for spots in our rotation," said the fourth-year head coach.
Hawk, a 6-4, 180-pound senior at Midwest City High School, chose Oklahoma State over Wichita State, Oral Roberts, Texas A&M and Kansas State.
Weaver, a 6-1, 195-pound senior at Yukon High School, also considered Wichita State and Oral Roberts before signing with the Cowboys. He is also expected to vie for time at the plate as a designated hitter/first baseman according to the coaching staff.
