Oklahoma State Football Postgame Notes
October 23, 1999 | Cowboy Football
Oct. 23, 1999
? Junior QB Tony Lindsay's first-quarter touchdown was his first this season, he had previously played just two quarters this season before being injured in the season opener. After scoring twice on the ground and once through the air today, he now has 21 rushing touchdowns in his career to go along with 17 passing TDs.
? OSU scored touchdowns on its first two possessions for the second consecutive game. Prior to the Oct. 9 game against Texas Tech, the Cowboys had not scored twice in the first quarter this year.
? Senior WR Ethan Howell's second-quarter pass reception was his second this season and the fifth of his career. A big play for most players, the 24-yard catch was small by Howell's standards ? the first four TDs of his career went for 55, 65, 67 and 63 yards.
? Senior DB Adam Edwards' second-quarter interception in the end zone was his first this season and the third of his career.
? OSU has lost eight straight games to the Wildcats. The Cowboys' last victory over K-State was Oct. 14, 1989, when the Cowboys won 17-13 in Stillwater.
? OSU has lost 24 straight games to teams ranked in the AP top 10, dating to a Dec. 28, 1984, victory over No. 7 South Carolina in the Gator Bowl.
? The 44 points scored by Kansas State are the most against OSU since the Wildcats won 52-20 last year in Manhattan.
