Women's Soccer Opens Homestand With Texas Tech, Baylor

The Week Ahead: Oklahoma State opens up a four-game homestand this weekend when the Cowgirls take on Texas Tech and Baylor in Big 12 action. OSU and Texas Tech will play on Friday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. while the Cowgirls and Bears will tangle on Sunday, Oct. 17 at 1 p.m. Oklahoma State is looking to snap a three-game losing streak and improve on last year's conference record of 1-6-3.
Last Week for OSU: The Cowgirls lost a pair on the road to Kansas 4-2 and Missouri 3-0 last weekend. Andi Lute scored a goal and recorded an assist in the loss to the Jayhawks while Mercy Morrical chipped in with her first goal of the year. OSU was outshot 37-1 in the loss to the Tigers, as Missy Moss recorded the only shot of the game for the Cowgirls.
About Texas Tech: The Red Raiders are 7-6-1 overall and 3-3 in conference action after important wins over Texas 3-0 and No. 7 Texas A&M 1-0 over the weekend. Forward Carrie Graham leads the team with seven goals and one assist on the season, including game-winning goals over Texas A&M, Missouri and Texas-El Paso. Goalkeeper Brittany Peese has spent the majority of time in net with an 1.22 goals against average and four shutouts in 11 games played. Head coach Felix Oskam has posted a 21-24-4 ledger in three seasons in Lubbock. The Red Raiders lead the series against OSU 3-0, including a 2-1 overtime decision last season in Lubbock.
About Baylor: The Bears are 9-5 overall and 3-3 in the Big 12 after splitting against Texas A&M (W, 1-0) and Texas (L, 4-2) last weekend. Forward Courtney Saunders leads the team in scoring with 10 goals and seven assists for 27 points in 14 games. Goalkeeper Dawn Greathouse has an 1.07 goals against average and five shutouts this season after earning All-Big 12 honors last year. Nick Cowell is in his first season as head coach of the Bears, replacing Randy Waldrum, who went to Notre Dame after leading the Bears to the NCAA tournament last season. Baylor has a 2-0-1 series lead over Oklahoma State, including a 3-0 win last season in Waco.
Cowgirl Notes: Oklahoma State has only one more road game this season against TCU to end the year on Oct. 27 ... Laurel Catlett-King and Emily Hamilton returned to action over the weekend after missing playing time against LSU and Colorado due to injuries ... Andi Lute is one goal away from tying her career-high of five goals in a season set last year ... In the latest Big 12 statistical reports, OSU ranked No. 5 in the league with 84 saves and 63 corner kicks ... Promotions for this weekend include an chance to win a Brandi Chastain autograph on Friday and World Cup Plush Bears will be given away on Sunday while supplies last.
