Dr. Jesse Shaw

Dr. Jesse Shaw is a board-certified osteopathic family and sports medicine physician with extensive experience caring for elite athletes at the highest levels of competition. He earned his medical degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania in 2011, and completed a prestigious sports medicine fellowship at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama under the mentorship of renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews, and Michael Goodlett. He joined the department in 2026 after serving in the same role at Washington State University.

Over the past 15 years, Dr. Shaw has provided comprehensive medical care for US Navy Special Forces, Division 1, Professional and Olympic athletes. He continues to serve multiple US Olympic and Paralympic National Governing Bodies. As Head Team Physician for OSU Football, he oversees the medical care of Cowboy football while also providing care for all Cowboy and Cowgirl student-athletes.Â

Dr. Shaw is an internationally recognized leader in sports medicine. He actively advances the specialty through research, peer review, innovation, and scholarly publication. He is a sought-after speaker at national and international conferences and has taught sports medicine internationally, including courses in both Germany and China. He has achieved fellowship designation with the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine. He also currently serves as core faculty for the OSU CHS Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship.

Dr. Shaw is supported by his wife, Sarah, and their two daughters, Brooklynn and Hailey.
