2024 Outdoors
Opened his outdoor campaign with an impressive performance at the Bryan Clay Invitational, clocking a time of 3:36.08 in the 1,500 Meters… Won the John McDonnel Invitational in the 1,500 with a time of 3:37.33… Dropped down to the 800 Meters at the Arkansas Twilight, running a time of 1:48.76, which ranks tenth in program history… Earned All-Big 12 honors in the 5K with his seventh-place finish overall… Qualified for the NCAA West Prelims, advancing through to the Quarterfinal round.
2024 Indoors
Placed 14th overall at the Big 12 Championships in the 3K.
2023 Cross Country
Once again proved to be one of OSU’s most valuable scorers on the cross country circuit… Opened his season at the Big 12 Cross Country Championships, placing fifth overall as OSU’s third scorer overall, helping the Cowboys secure their fourth straight Big 12 title on the grass… His 8K time of 23:00.4 at the Big 12 Championships was the fourth-fastest time in program history on the grass… Completed just his second competitive 10K in the orange and black at the NCAA Midwest Regionals, taking third overall as the Cowboys finished 1-2-3 on their way to a region-record 19 points… At the NCAA Cross Country Championships, Messaoudi improved upon his 2022 performance, once again earning All-America honors with his 10th-place finish overall, boosting the Cowboys to their fifth NCAA title in cross country as the third scorer overall for the Pokes.
2023 Outdoors
After his dominant indoor season, Messaoudi would continue his impressive form outdoors… At the Bryan Clay Invitational in California, he set a new school record in the 1,500 Meters with his time of 3:35.16, which was the fourth-fastest time in NCAA history… Following that performance, Messaoudi was named to the Bowerman Watch List, which is awarded yearly to the NCAA’s top track & field athlete… At the Big 12 Outdoor Championships, he defended his title in the 1,500 Meters, taking down several more All-Americans with his time of 3:36.59 and breaking the championship record by over four seconds… Qualified for the NCAA Championships with a third-place performance at the NCAA West Prelims… Earned second team All-America honors in the 1,500 Meters at the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas.
2023 Indoors
Established himself as one of the NCAA’s most dominant athletes during his sophomore indoor campaign, winning nine of the ten races he entered, with his only defeat coming at the hands of his teammate… Kicked off his season with a victory in the 3,000 Meters at the Boston University Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, defeating a pair of All-Americans and a future national champion in BYU’s Kenneth Rooks… At the Razorback Invitational, Messaoudi broke German Fernandez’ 14-year-old school record in the indoor Mile with his time of 3:54.98 to go along with his third victory of the season as the leadoff leg of the Cowboy DMR… Two weeks later, he broke his second school record of the season, breaking teammate Alex Maier’s 3K school record with his time of 7:41.63, which is also the eighth-fastest all-conditions time in NCAA history… Following that performance, Messaoudi once again led the Cowboy DMR to a meet victory at the Arkansas Qualifier with their time of 9:16.40, which set a new indoor world, NCAA and school record by over three seconds as they defeated Washington at the line… At the Big 12 Indoor Championships, he took home a pair of Big 12 titles in the Mile and DMR and finished third in the 3K to give him 18.5 points overall, which helped the Cowboys take home second place in the team race… Messaoudi then delivered one of the best individual performance in OSU Athletics history at the NCAA Indoor Championships, leading off the Cowboy DMR squad that took home the Cowboys’ first NCAA Indoor title since 1986 by almost three seconds, with Messaoudi setting the tone with a massive first leg lead the Cowboys would not relinquish… He followed up his dominant first-day performance on day two, winning his second NCAA title of the weekend in the 3,000 Meters with a time of 7:48.10, defeating a field that included a pair of NCAA Champions and a slew of All-Americans… He was also the only male athlete to win multiple NCAA titles at the 2023 NCAA Indoor Championships.
2022 Cross Country
Earned Big 12 Newcomer of the Year as he quickly established himself as one of OSU’s top distance runners in his first two cross country appearances in the orange and black… Opened at the Big 12 Championships with a sixth-place finish in the 8K, where he garnered All-Big 12 recognition for the first time… He was one of five Cowboys to place in the top 10 in the competition… In his first career 10K at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, Messaoudi finished 12th as he crossed the finish line in 29:10.8, the fifth-fastest in OSU history, and was the winner of his head-to-head tiebreaker… Named an All-American for the first time in cross country, and the second time in his career spanning across indoor track & field.
2022 Outdoors
Proved himself to be one of the best middle-distance runners in the country during his freshman outdoor season… Finished third overall in a loaded Joe Walker Invitational 1,500 Meter field, finishing with a time of 3:40.50, which ranked ninth in school history at the time… Led the DMR squad to another victory at the Drake Relays, clocking a time of 9:40.60 overall… Had a career day at the Arkansas Twilight to round out the regular season, winning the 1,500 Meter race with a time of 3:39.07, which ranks him seventh in program history… At the Big 12 Outdoor Championships, Messaoudi opened with a second-place finish in the 1,500 Meter prelims before taking home his first Big 12 Championship in the 1,500 Meters with a time of 3:42.00… Continued his postseason run at the NCAA West Prelims, advancing to the 1,500 Meter quarterfinals, where he clocked the eighth-fastest time overall at 3:40.37.
2022 Indoors
Competed in five meets during his first season with the Cowboys… In his first race with OSU, he helped the Distance Medley Relay squad to an event win at the Razorback Invitational with a time of 9:28.88… Continued his momentum at the Boston University Valentine Invitational, earning a 10th-place finish at the invitational race with a personal-best 3,000 Meter time of 7:50.72… At the Arkansas Qualifier, Messaoudi ran the opening 1,200 meter leg of the Cowboy DMR squad that became the fifth-fastest team in NCAA history with a time of 9:22.70… Earned his first career All-Big 12 honor at the Big 12 Indoor Championships in the Mile with a time of 4:00.39 after clocking a time of 3:58.43 in the prelims… Once again opened the Cowboy DMR at the NCAA Indoor Championships, where they earned a fifth-place finish to give him his first All-America honor with their time of 9:28.11.
