Oklahoma State University Athletics
Name, Image, & Likeness

The NCAA’s policy on Name, Image & Likeness (NIL) means a world of new opportunities for collegiate student-athletes. Oklahoma State has emerged as a leader in this new frontier, and we strive to give OSU student-athletes the tools to succeed.
"Here at Oklahoma State, there's nothing more important to us than the student-athlete experience," said Athletic Director Chad Weiberg. "We’re excited to bring the best tools in NIL education and opportunities to the Cowboys and Cowgirls, because our goal will always be to remain on the cutting edge both in NIL as well as on the field of play."
What do OSU student-athletes need to know about NIL?
- You can earn compensation for NIL activities, which include things like product endorsements, private lessons, autograph signings, promotional appearances or starting your own business. The payment for these NIL activities should be at fair market value.
- Pay-for-play is not allowed, and the NIL activity can’t be a part of a recruiting inducement. See OSU’s full NIL policies or contact the OSU Office of Athletics Compliance for more details on this, because we wouldn’t want you to jeopardize your eligibility over an NIL activity.
- You may use Oklahoma State marks and logos during NIL activities after those rights have been secured through the OSU Department of Licensing. Reach out to Kurtis Mason (Kurtis.Mason@okstate.edu) for more information.
- NIL activities involving a product or service that conflicts with NCAA legislation (gambling, banned substances, ect.), that reflects negatively on OSU or that conflicts with one of OSU’s team contracts is not allowed. Also, you’ll be asked to stay away from NIL activities during team activities and functions.
- Recording your NIL activities in the INFLCR Exchange is quick and easy. Just click the blue bar that says “Report New Transaction” and fill out the pop-up form. Recording each activity as early as possible allows the OSU Office of Athletics Compliance to ensure that your NIL activity is within NCAA and OSU policies and that your eligibility isn’t being jeopardized.
Oklahoma State also has several NIL resources available for student-athletes
