Equestrian Camps
The OSU Equestrian coaching staff will be hosting the College Prep Camps in Stillwater, Oklahoma, in four separate camps this spring! Here are the dates:
Camp 1: April 24-25, 2026 – Jumping Seat and Horsemanship
Camp 2: April 26-27, 2026 – Jumping Seat and Reining
Camp 3: May 15-16, 2026 – Jumping Seat only
Camp 4: May 17-18, 2026 – Jumping Seat only
The purpose of these camps is to provide high school aged riders with an overview of what it takes to be a college athlete. Camp includes riding instruction, film review, strength and conditioning, and important information on being a collegiate athlete from an academic and compliance standpoint. We want to take your riding skills to the next level and help riders understand everything involved with being on a Division 1 collegiate equestrian team.
Head Coach Larry Sanchez brings his 30 plus years of collegiate coaching experience to the clinic as well as Assistant Jumping Seat Coach Ashley Duda, Assistant Jumping Seat Coach Alle Durkin, Associate Head Western Coach Laura Brainard, and assistant reining coach Jody Brainard.
Registration is limited to the first 24 applicants for each camp – 14 Jumping Seat riders/10 Horsemanship riders, and 14 Jumping Seat riders/10 Reining riders. Openings will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. After the spots are filled, we will keep other applicants on stand-by in case there is a cancellation.
Oklahoma State Equestrian camps are open to any and all entrants only restricted by age, gender, and availability. This camp is open to all female students in grades 9 – 12. It is imperative that our clinics provide a safe, positive, and beneficial forum for skill instruction and athletic advancement. For health & safety purposes, camp participants should have show experience in their respective disciplines. It is suggested that jumping seat riders be competing consistently in the hunters or equitation at a minimum fence height of 3’3” and/or the jumpers at a minimum fence height of 1.10 m.
We will have 2 full days of instruction. Campers will learn what it is like to be a student-athlete, going from workouts to practice, meeting with a compliance officer and academic advisor. Past campers have said we have the most inclusive college prep camp in the country, with more ride time on quality horses, and more time with our coaches. There are several members on our current roster who have participated in our camps prior to college.
Day 1: Check-in starts at 8:30 am, dismissed at 4:30pm. **Lunch and snacks provided.
Day 2: Drop off at 8:30 am, dismissed at 3:30 pm. **Lunch and snacks provided.
**we are ending at 3:30 pm on Day 2 so that campers/parents can try to catch an evening flight out of OKC/Tulsa if needed.
