Oklahoma State Athletics establishes new APR record
June 03, 2026 | General
STILLWATER – For the fourth consecutive year, Oklahoma State has elevated the school record in the Academic Progress Rate (APR), a metric created by the NCAA to hold institutions accountable for the academic progress of their student-athletes.
OSU's overall multiyear average was 988.00, eclipsing the previous record of 985.8 set last year. The record extends a run of success that has seen the Pokes post the four highest multiyear scores in program history in each of the last four years.
The men's golf team led the way with a perfect score of 1,000. It was the eighth time in the last nine years that Cowboy Golf has achieved APR perfection.
Other OSU teams setting new program records included football (988), men's basketball (988), men's cross country (993) and wrestling (985).
Eight different OSU teams showed improvement from the previous year, with a ninth – men's golf – incapable of improving its previous perfect showing. The most significant year-over-year improvements came from men's basketball (11 points), men's track and field (11 points), men's tennis (eight points) and men's cross country (seven points). Football, wrestling and women's track and field all improved by two points, with women's golf improving by one.
The APR is a team-based metric that accounts for the eligibility and retention of each student-athlete for each academic term. Teams must earn a four-year APR of 930 to compete in championships, and every team at Oklahoma State is comfortably above that marker.
