Cowboy Golf Opens Spring Season In Hawaii

KOHALA COAST, Hawaii – Oklahoma State's men's golf team will get its spring season underway this week when it begins play at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate in Hawaii.
The 11th-ranked Cowboys will be one of 20 teams in action at the par-72, 6,913-yard Mauna Lani North Course. The 54-hole event will be contested Thursday through Sunday with 18 holes being contested each day.
OSU will get play underway at 10:30 a.m. (CST) and will be grouped with Oregon, Texas-Arlington and Washington.
Head coach Alan Bratton's starting lineup will be comprised of juniors Ethan Fang, Preston Stout, Gaven Lane and Eric Lee as well as sophomore Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson.
Redshirt freshman Collin Bond will compete individually.
In each of the past two years, Stout has fired a 62 to open the event, matching the school's 18-hole scoring mark.
Last year, the Cowboys used a closing 21-under par 267 to win the event with a program-record 64-under total of 800. OSU opened the event with a program-best 24-under 262.
OSU has captured the tournament title on 10 occasions, finishing first in 1991, 1995, 1996, 2005, 2011, 2014, 2018, 2019, and 2022 as well.
Individually, Eugenio Chacarra was OSU's most recent medalist at the event after posting a closing 62 to finish at 19-under 197 in 2022. He is joined by Matthew Wolff, Jordan Niebrugge, Jonathan Moore, Tyler Leon, Alan Bratton and Craig Hainline as Cowboys to win the event.
