Cowboy Baseball Falls In Bedlam

ARLINGTON, Texas – Oklahoma State dropped a 10-1 contest to 19th-ranked Oklahoma Saturday in the Shriners Children's College Showdown at Globe Life Field.
With the loss, the Cowboys fell to 0-2 on the season while OU improved to 2-0. OSU is now 37-16 all time against the Sooners in 14 seasons under head coach Josh Holliday.
Kollin Ritchie drove in the lone run for the Cowboys with a double, one of four hits for OSU on the day.
Starter Mario Pesca took the loss on the mound. The right-hander worked three innings and allowed four runs on four hits; he struck out three and also issued three walks.
The Cowboys fell behind in the first inning as a pair of walks led to a two-RBI double for Jaxon Willits, and OU added runs in the second and fourth to go up 4-0.
OSU got on the scoreboard in the fifth. Following a single by Avery Ortiz, Ritchie ripped an RBI double into the right-field corner to make the score 4-1.
But OU answered with four runs in the bottom of the frame, the big blow coming on a three-run home run by Trey Gambill. The Sooners plated their final two runs in the eighth.
OSU concludes tourney play Sunday against Vanderbilt at 10:30 a.m.
