Cowboy Trio Named To Hogan Watch List

FORT WORTH, Texas –Oklahoma State's trio of Ethan Fang, Eric Lee and Preston Stout were all named to the 2026 watch list for the Ben Hogan Award it was announced on Wednesday by the award's subcommittee.
The Cowboy trio, which led OSU to its 12th NCAA title last spring, made OSU one of four schools with three players named to the list.
A first-team All-American a year ago, Fang is currently ranked No. 5 in the World Amateur Ranking. The Plano, Texas native picked up a victory last fall at The Carmel Cup, was co-medalist and runner-up at the Western Amateur Championship and was victorious at The Amateur Championship where he became the first American in 18 years to win the event. He competed for the United States at the Palmer Cup, Walker Cup and World Amateur Team Championship.
Stout, who was a first-team All-American last year, checks in at No. 3 in the WAGR and was medalist this past summer at the U.S. Amateur Championship. The Richardson, Texas native was victorious at the Northeast Amateur Invitational and repeated as medalist at the Big 12 Championship as well. He also competed for the United States at the Palmer Cup, Walker Cup and World Amateur Team Championship.
Lee earned honorable mention All-America status last year and currently ranks No. 24 in the world. The Fullerton, Calif., native reached the semifinals at the 2025 U.S. Amateur Championship and tied for sixth place during the stroke play portion of the Western Amateur. Lee rolled to an eight-shot victory last spring at the Mountaineer Invitational as well.
The Hogan Award is presented annually to the top men's NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer based on results from all collegiate, amateur and professional events played over the previous 12 months.
An international selection committee comprised of 40 leaders in collegiate, amateur and professional golf votes during each stage of the process. This year's 10 semifinalists, which could include individuals not on the watch list, will be unveiled on April 16. The group will be pared down to three finalists on May 12. The finalists will attend a black-tie dinner on May 25 at the TCU Legends Club in Fort Worth, Texas where the winner will be crowned.
