STILLWATER – Oklahoma State set an athletic department record with an all-sports average score of 985.8 on the Academic Progress Rate (APR) multiyear data released today by the NCAA. The previous record was 981.1, set in 2021-22.
The OSU football, baseball, wrestling and men's golf teams set their individual program records, with women's basketball setting its second-best mark and men's basketball, women's cross country and women's track and field all establishing their third-best marks since the APR reporting began in 2004-05.
The APR holds institutions accountable for the academic progress of their student-athletes through a team-based metric that accounts for the eligibility and retention of each student-athlete for each academic term.
Of the 15 OSU sports counted in the APR multiyear data, 14 improved on their score from last year with the lone exception – softball - falling just one point below last year's program-record showing.
Coach Alan Bratton's men's golf team had a perfect score of 1,000 for the seventh time in the last eight years and the 14th time overall.
The most significant year-over-year improvements came from the men's basketball team, which was 12 points higher than last year, and men's tennis, which was 11 points better than a year ago.
Teams must earn a four-year APR of 930 to compete in championships, and every team at Oklahoma State is comfortably above that marker.
