May 29, 2025 | Cowboy Golf
CARLSBAD, Calif. – Oklahoma State sophomores Ethan Fang and Preston Stout were both honored this week with the announcement of the Division I PING First-Team All-Americans by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
The distinction marks the first time since 2019 OSU has had a pair of first-team selections. That season, Viktor Hovland and Matthew Wolff both earned the honor.
The duo led OSU to a No. 2 national ranking and seven victories on the season after leading the Cowboys to their 12th national title yesterday. Both Fang and Stout were selected in April to represent the United States at the Arnold Palmer Cup.
Fang, who is in his first season with the Cowboys after transferring from California, reeled off seven consecutive top 10s to start his OSU career. During that stretch, he had a run of three top fives in a row, finishing fifth at the Fighting Illini Invitational, fourth at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup and third at the Amer Ari Invitational.
The Plano, Texas native tied for third this spring at the Mountaineer Invitational before tying for fifth place at the Big 12 Championship. Fang most recently tied for 15th at the NCAA Championship.
Stout has won twice this spring with victories at the Cabo Collegiate and the Big 12 Championship, where he joined Morgan Hoffmann as the only Cowboys to capture multiple Big 12 crowns.
The Richardson, Texas native has finished in the top 10 in his last six starts after finishing third this week at the NCAA Championship. In addition to his two victories, Stout has other three third-place showings as well, finishing third at the Gators Invitational, the Maridoe Intercollegiate and the Haskins Award Invitational.
