STILLWATER – Oklahoma State track & field thrower Emma Robbins was named Big 12 Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week after her dominant performance at the Texas Relays this past weekend.
Robbins took care of business at the historic Texas Relays last weekend, shattering the school record by over five meters and setting the No. 1 mark in the NCAA this season at 69.09 meters. She won the meet by nearly six meters overall, defeating Big 12 Weight Throw champion Shelby Frank of Texas Tech.
Robbins broke the school record on her first attempt with a mark of 66.50 meters before launching her winning throw in her fourth attempt. Each of her six attempts on the day went past the previous school record of 64.69 meters set by Delissa McClain in 2005 at the NCAA West Prelims.
The senior from Anaheim, Calif., is the fifth Cowgirl in program history and third in the past three years to win the award outdoors with each of the previous four honorees listed below:
Bailey Golden – April 10, 2024
Bailey Golden – April 12, 2023
Savannah Camacho - April 5, 2017
Natalja Piliusina – May 6, 2015
Robbins is in her first season as a Cowgirl and already owns school records in the indoor Weight Throw and outdoor Hammer Throw with her first attempt in each event. She was a first team All-American in the Hammer Throw in 2023 with a fourth-place finish.
