Cowboy Golf In Control At Mountaineer Invitational

BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team wrapped up the first day of action at the Mountaineer Invitational on Monday with a commanding lead at Pete Dye Golf Club.
The third-ranked Cowboys opened play with a 277 during the morning round to hold a 10-shot lead over Kentucky at the par-72, 7,308-yard layout
OSU found itself at 5-under par during the second round before play was called for the day with the Cowboys having completed 9-11 holes. The second round will resume tomorrow at 7:45 a.m (CST) with the completion of the second round followed by the final round.
Head coach Alan Bratton's squad stands at 16-under par and 17 strokes clear of the field.
Sophomore Eric Lee fired a bogey-free 67 which featured a 4-under 32 on his outward nine to open play. He posted a 34 on his opening nine of the second round to stand at 7-under to hold a three-shot lead.
Sophomore Preston Stout opened with a 72 and is 3-under through 11 holes during round two to share fourth place.
Classmate Gaven Lane opened play with a 69 and is 2-over through nine holes during his second round to stand alone in seventh place.
After opening with a 75, sophomore Ethan Fang responded with a 2-under 34 on the opening nine of his second round to climb into a share of 12th place.
Also among the group tied for 12th place is freshman Filip Falhberg-Johnsson, who posted an opening 69 and is 4-over through nine holes of his second round.
Junior John Wild is competing as an individual and opened with an even-par 72 and has completing 10 holes of his second round in 2-over par to share 17th place.
