Cowboy Baseball’s Bodendorf Picks Up Pair Of Awards
April 14, 2025 | Cowboy Baseball
IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State's Harrison Bodendorf was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week, and he also picked up Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honors for his performance against Arizona in Week 9.
Bodendorf was the winning pitcher in the series opener against the 20th-ranked Wildcats as he hurled a 10-inning complete game to earn his Big 12-leading seventh win of the season.
A junior southpaw, Bodendorf became just the eighth Big 12 pitcher since 2003 to work 10 innings in a game and the first since Texas' Austin Wood hurled a conference-record 13 innings in a 2009 NCAA Regional game. He is the second OSU pitcher to achieve the feat during that span, joining Scott Richmond, who did it in 2004.
The complete game was the first of Bodendorf's career – his previous high innings pitched was seven – and the 125-pitch effort saw him rack up 10 strikeouts and allow just one earned run on three hits and one walk.
Bodendorf retired 15 consecutive batters from the bottom of the fourth inning until allowing a game-tying home run with one out in the 9th. The Cowboys scored twice in the ninth, and following an error to open the bottom of the 10th, Bodendorf retired the next three Wildcats to secure the win.
This is the third Big 12 Pitcher of the Week award for Bodendorf this season as he also won it on March 3 and April 7.
