April 12, 2025 | Cowboy Golf
BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team will be back in action this week when it takes part in the Mountaineer Invitational at Pete Dye Golf Club.
The third-ranked Cowboys will be one of 18 teams in action at the event. Play will get underway on Monday at 7:15 a.m. (CST) with a shotgun start at the par-72, 7,308-yard layout. The field will play 36 holes on Monday followed by Tuesday's final round.
OSU will be grouped with West Virginia, Texas Tech and Kentucky to open play. Scoring for the event will be available at scoreboard.clippd.com.
This week's starting lineup will consist of sophomores Ethan Fang, Preston Stout, Eric Lee and Gaven Lane as well as freshman Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson. Junior John Wild will compete individually.
This year marks the second time the Cowboys have competed at the tournament with head coach Alan Bratton's squad logging a 20-shot victory in 2023. Former Cowboy standout Jonas Baumgartner captured medalist honors that year as well.
OSU is coming off its third win of the year, sharing top honors with Texas at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational last week. The Cowboys have not finished outside the top three in six starts this spring, winning twice, finishing second three times and having a third-place finish as well. OSU closed its fall slate with its first win of the year.
Stout finished third in OSU's last outing, which was his fourth top-three showing in his last five starts, a stretch that also includes a victory at the Cabo Collegiate.
Lee earned his third consecutive top 10 in Augusta as well.
