Final Results
CARROLLTON, Texas – Oklahoma State's men's golf team tallied its third runner-up finish of the season on Tuesday at the Maridoe Intercollegiate, finishing with an 873 total at Maridoe Golf Club.
The fourth-ranked Cowboys posted their third consecutive score of 291, 3-over, to get to their 9-over total, putting them 15 shots ahead of Arizona State at the par-72, 7,69-yard layout. Oklahoma won the event with an 857 total.
OSU's second-place showing was its third in its last four starts. Overall, the Cowboys have a pair of wins, three runner-up finishes and a third-place outing in their last six starts.
Preston Stout closed with a 1-under 71 to finish in sole possession of third place at 214. The sophomore birdied the third before carding his lone bogey on his opening nine at the fourth. He would tally birdies at the sixth and ninth to turn in 2-under 34. Stout countered a bogey at the 12th with a birdie at the 13th. He would bogey the 15th before closing his round with three consecutive pars.
The finish marked his third top-three finish in his last four outings after finishing third at the Gators Invitational and tying for first place at the Cabo Collegiate.
Sophomore Gaven Lane logged his first top five of the year, finishing alone in fifth place at 217 after signing for a 75 on Tuesday.
Sophomore Eric Lee fired a closing 69 to share 10th place at 220. The finish was the third time in Lee's last four starts he has finished among the top 10.
Ethan Fang carded a closing 76 to finish at 222 and tied for 15th place. The finish snapped the sophomore's string of seven consecutive top-10 finishes.
Junior John Wild competed individually at the event and closed with a 77 to finish tied for 22nd place at 224.
Freshman Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson posted a 77 to finish at 233 and tied for 59th place.
