Cowboys Second Through 36 Holes At Maridoe

Day 1 Results
CARROLLTON, Texas – Oklahoma State's men's golf team opened play with a pair of 291s on Monday at the Maridoe Intercollegiate to stand in second place through 36 holes at Maridoe Golf Club.
OSU 's 6-over total of 582 put the Cowboys in a tie for the second position with Arizona State at the par-71, 7,569-yard layout. The fourth-ranked Cowboys finished the day 14 shots off the pace of Oklahoma.
Individually, OU's Jase Summy wrapped up the day with a one-shot lead at 140.
OSU sophomore Gaven Lane fired a 4-under 68 during the morning round to stand atop the leaderboard. Starting his round on the third hole, Lane birdied two of his first four holes before reeling off three consecutive birdies at Nos. 11-13. He would add the sixth and seventh birdies of his round at the first two holes to get to his 4-under score.
Lane would card a 74 during the second round to share third place at 142.
Classmate Preston Stout opened with a 2-under 70 to share second place before following with a round of 73 to finish the day at 143 and tied for sixth place.
Sophomore Ethan Fang and freshman Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson each carded 77s to come in among the group tied for 48th place after 18 holes.
Fang bounced back with a 3-under 69 that saw him shake off an opening double bogey with four birdies in a six-hole stretch on the back nine to climb into a tie for 12th place at 146.
Fahlberg-Johnsson would sign for a 79 during round two to stand at 156 and tied for 63rd place.
Sophomore Eric Lee posted an opening 76 to wrap up the morning tied for 43rd place. He would add a round of 75 during the afternoon to share 41st place at 151.
Junior John Wild is competing individually and posted an opening 80 before rallying with a 67 to vault into a tie for 17th place at 147.
