Emma Robbins shatters school record and sets NCAA No. 1 mark in Hammer Throw at Texas Relays
March 30, 2025 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State outdoor track & field returned to action this weekend at multiple meets across the country, with Cowgirl throwers heading to Texas and Cowboy distance heading to California.
Action kicked off with a pair of Cowgirl throwers at the Texas Relays. Emma Robbins shattered the Hammer Throw school record in her first outdoor attempt in the orange and black with a toss of 69.09 meters, giving her the winning mark by over five meters. Robbins' throw broke the previous school record of 64.69 meters set by Delissa McClain back in 2005. She now owns both the indoor Weight Throw and outdoor Hammer Throw school records in her lone season as a Cowgirl.
Teammate Rachel Neaves placed sixth overall in the event in her second competition of the season with a personal-best throw of 61.46 meters, good for third in program history behind Robbins and McClain.
On the men's side, Fouad Messaoudi opened the proceedings at The TEN in California, winning the 1,500 Meters against an entirely professional field that included several former world championship qualifiers. Messaoudi clocked a time of 3:35.55, which just missed his own school record in the event.
Rounding out the night was Denis Kipngetich, who shattered the school record in the 10,000 Meters with his time of 27:20.10. Kipngetich broke previous record of 27:36.79 set by Cowboy Olympian Shadrack Kipchirchir in 2014 at the Payton Jordan Invitational.
The Cowboys and Cowgirls return to the track next weekend with athletes heading to four separate meets spanning from Florida to California.
