Cowboys Win In Record Fashion In Hawaii

KOHALA COAST, Hawaii – Oklahoma State's men's golf team fired a closing 267 on Saturday on its way to victory in its spring opener at the Amer Ari Invitational at Mauna Lani Resort Golf Club.
The Cowboys' 21-under score propelled them to a program-record 64-under par total of 800. OSU's previous mark of 63-under 801 came at the 2005 Waikoloa Intercollegiate. The Cowboys opened the event with a program-best 24-under 262 on Thursday.
The victory was OSU's 10th all time at the event and its second consecutive victory after closing the fall with a win at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup. The Cowboys have now won 43 team titles under the direction of head coach Alan Bratton as well.
North Carolina was second at 805, while Texas was third at 808 and Auburn was fourth at 811.
Sophomore Ethan Fang notched a top-five finish after firing his second consecutive 67. He shared third place with his 198 total.
Fang was joined in the top 10 by freshman Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson, who posted his low round of the event with a 66 to move into a tie for seventh place at 201.
Sophomore Gaven Lane followed a 65 during his second round with a 68 to finish in a tie for 16th place at 204.
Sophomore Preston Stout carded a 67 during his third round to finish at 205 and tied for 24th place.
Sophomore Eric Lee rounded out the Cowboy starting five with his low round of the event, a 67, to finish at 207 and tied for 35th place.
Sophomore Johnnie Clark competed individually and carded a closing 69 to finish at 210 and tied for 51st place.
