Cowboy Golf Back In Action At Cabo Collegiate

LOS CABOS, Mexico – Oklahoma State's men's golf team will return to action this weekend when it begins play at the 15th annual Cabo Collegiate at Twin Dolphin Club.
The sixth-ranked Cowboys will be one of 14 teams teeing it up at the par-71, 7,156-yard layout. The 54-hole event gets underway with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning and will run through Tuesday's final round. Play on Monday and Tuesday will begin at 8:30 a.m. as well. OSU will be grouped with Arizona State, Vanderbilt and California.
Head coach Alan Bratton will utilize a starting five of sophomores Ethan Fang, Preston Stout, Eric Lee and Gaven Lane as well as freshman Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson. Junior John Wild will compete individually.
The Cowboys have competed in the event on nine consecutive occasions with their appearance this year. OSU has won the tournament three times, claiming the team title in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
In 2019, OSU cruised to an eight-shot victory over the field with its 32-under total of 820. The Cowboys' 2018 victory also came by eight shots after the Pokes carded a 14-under tally of 838. OSU's first win at the event was a 10-shot victory in 2017 courtesy of a 29-under score of 823.
Current PGA Tour standout and former Cowboy All-American Austin Eckroat captured medalist honors in 2019, the final year the event was contested at Querencia Golf Club. He fired a 14-under total of 199 to finish two shots clear of teammate Matthew Wolff.
