Cowboys 10th At Fighting Irish Classic

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team wrapped up day one of the Fighting Irish Classic tied for 10th place with its 570 total at Notre Dame's Warren Golf Course.
North Carolina grabbed the 36-hole lead with its 549 total after posting totals of 273 and 276 on Monday at the par-70, 7,023-yard layout.
Head coach Alan Bratton's squad is competing without the services of three staples in its lineup in All-Americans Ethan Fang and Preston Stout as well as Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson, who are in Singapore to compete at the World Amateur Team Championships. Fang and Stout will represent the United States, while Fahlberg-Johnsson will compete for Sweden.
Redshirt freshman Brady Catalano was impressive in his opening round, firing a 5-under 65. His round included a pair of birdies as well as an albatross and an eagle on the par-5 fifth and par-5 17th, respectively.
He followed with a 70 during his second round to finish the day tied for second place at 135.
Junior Gaven Lane posted a pair of 72s to stand at 144 and tied for 39th place.
Junior Eric Lee signed for rounds of 73 and 74 to come in with a total of 147 and tied for 60th place.
Redshirt freshman Collin Bond's total of 148 included scores of 70 and 78 to tie him for 64th place.
Senior John Wild tied for 69th place with scores of 76 and 74 for a 150 total.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. and will be grouped with Indiana and Miami (Ohio).
