October 21, 2025 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's cross country remains at No. 2 for the third straight week while the Cowgirls drop three spots to No. 11 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Coaches' Poll, the organization announced Tuesday.
The OSU men are undefeated in three meets so far this season, including a win over No. 3 New Mexico at the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater. The No. 2 ranking is the 19th straight poll the Cowboys have been ranked inside the top three and the 33rd straight poll they've been inside the top five. The OSU men have been ranked inside the top ten in every poll since 2020, with the lowest ranking being No. 7 at the start of the 2021 season. They have also appeared in the top ten in all but one season since 2006.
In the FloTrack rankings, OSU is No. 3, with Brian Musau, Denis Kipngetich and Fouad Messaoudi ranked second, third and 26th in the individual rankings. Kipngetich won the Jamboree for the second time in three years, with Musau and Messaoudi making their season debuts at the Weis-Crockett Invitational this past weekend.
On the women's side, the Cowgirls sit at No. 11 in both the USTFCCCA and FloTrack polls after winning the Weis-Crockett Invitational with a perfect score of 15. Isca Chelangat and Maureen Rutoh have won the past two meets individually for the Cowgirls, with Chelangat ranked No. 26 in the FloTrack poll.
Postseason action kicks off for the Cowboys and Cowgirls at the Big 12 Cross Country Championships next Friday, Oct. 31, in Lawrence, Kan., at Rim Rock Farm. The last time Rim Rock Farm hosted the conference meet, the Cowboys secured their first of four straight Big 12 titles with a tiebreaker victory over Iowa State. The men's 8K starts at 10 a.m. CT, with the women's 6K immediately following at 11 a.m.
