IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State is the preseason favorite to win the Big 12 Conference title in 2025, while Cowboy slugger Nolan Schubart is the Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year.
In a vote of the league's head coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their team or players, OSU received nine of a possible 14 first-place votes. Arizona was picked to finish second and garnered four first-place votes, while TCU was third and received a single first-place vote. West Virginia and Texas Tech rounded out the top five.
OSU will be looking for the third Big 12 regular season championship in program history. The Cowboys won the 2014 title and shared the crown in 2023.
The Pokes are coming off a 19-9 conference showing a year ago in which they won seven of 10 league series and finished second in the standings. OSU has finished in the top two of the Big 12 standings eight times in 11 seasons under head coach Josh Holliday.
Along with his player of the year selection, Schubart was a unanimous pick for the Preseason All-Big 12 Team and earned that distinction along with teammates Aidan Meola, Colin Brueggemann and Gabe Davis. OSU's four selections led the league.

He was named to the Big 12 Championship All-Tournament Team and the NCAA Stillwater Regional All-Tournament Team and led the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team to a five-game sweep of Chinese Taipei in the International Friendship Series in July as he was named MVP of the series.
As a freshman, Schubart hit .338 and smashed 17 homers and 20 doubles while collecting 74 RBIs. Along with All-America honors, he was named the Big 12 Co-Freshman of the Year.

An Honorable Mention All-Big 12 performer last season, Meola hit .329 with a career-high 10 round trippers and 47 RBIs in 43 games.
