Cowboys Wrap Up Day One At Sahalee In Third Place

Day 1 Results
SAMMAMISH, Wash. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team got its fall slate underway on Saturday at the Sahalee Players Championship, posting a 36-hole total of 576 to stand alone in third place.
The Cowboys opened with an even-par 288 to stand in third place at the par-72, 7,007-yard layout. Arizona State posted a 282 and was followed by Pepperdine's 284 tally. OSU followed with its second consecutive 288 to maintain its position following the second round. The Sun Devils finished at 566 and Pepperdine at 571.
ASU's Preston Summerhays grabbed the individual lead after day one with his 139 total.
Sophomore Preston Stout shared first place following the opening 18 after firing a 69. His 3-under total included a bogey-free outward nine with birdies at the second and sixth holes. He would card six consecutive pars on his second nine before posting a bogey at the 16th followed by back-to-back birdies to close his round.
Stout posted a 74 during the afternoon round to finish tied for eighth place at 1-under 143.
Ethan Fang carded a 71 in his Cowboy debut to stand in a tie for fifth place. The sophomore transfer from Cal posted an even-par 72 during his second round to finish alongside Stout at 143 and tied for eighth place.
Sophomore Eric Lee, who also joined the program this fall after transferring from Cal, posted a 74 during his first round. He would put together an afternoon round of 2-under 70, which included six birdies to move into a tie for 15th place with his even-par 144 tally.
Freshman Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson carded a 76 in his collegiate debut before bouncing back with an even-par 72, which included a 3-under 33 on his second nine to move into a tie for 39th place at 4-over 148.
Sophomore Johnnie Clark's 74 tied him for 28th place to open play. He followed with a 76 to slip into a tie for 52nd place at 150.
Competing individually, John Wild fired an opening 71 to join Stout and Fang in the top five. He would round out his day with a 73 to finish in a tie for 15th place at 144.
