July 02, 2024 | Cowboy Baseball
AUSTIN, Texas – Oklahoma State outfielder Nolan Schubart was named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Second Team.
Schubart becomes the sixth Academic All-American in program history, and it marks the seventh Academic All-America honor for Cowboy Baseball (Brad Beanblossom was a two-time honoree).
A sophomore majoring in marketing, Schubart carries a 3.9 grade point average. He is the fifth Oklahoma State student-athlete to receive Academic All-America honors this year, marking the eighth consecutive year OSU has had four or more recipients, and the 119th in OSU Athletics history.
Schubart posted a .370 batting average this season, leading the Cowboys and ranking second in the Big 12, and he led the conference in home runs (23), RBIs (68), on-base percentage (.513) and slugging percentage (.838).
Schubart's .838 slugging percentage is the sixth highest in a season in OSU history, and his 23 homers were the most by a Cowboys since the 1999 season.
Despite missing 12 games due to injury, Schubart racked up 145 total bases and also ranked in the top 10 in the Big 12 in walks (49) and runs (55).
Schubart became the 13th player in Cowboy Baseball history to collect All-America honors in multiple seasons in 2024 after he was named to the All-America Second Team by Baseball America, D1 Baseball, Perfect Game/Rawlings and the NCBWA. That came on the heels of him earning All-America plaudits from three outlets as a freshman.
