STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State baseball, wrestling and softball programs set all-time highs and OSU Athletics fell just two-tenths of a point shy of its overall department record in the 2023-24 Academic Progress Rate multiyear data released by the NCAA today.
The Cowboy baseball team scored a 982 to surpass its previous record of 979 from 2016-17. The Cowboy wrestling team's 980 comfortably eclipsed its previous best of 974 from 2014-15 and Cowgirl softball's 993 matched its record totals from 2010-11 and 2011-12.
OSU's top-performing teams in 2023-24 were softball, men's golf (993), women's golf (991), women's cross country (989), women's basketball (987), women's track and field (987) and soccer (986).
OSU's all-sports average of 980.93 was just below its 981.13 record mark set last year.
The Cowboy football program's 2023-24 multi-year rate of 981 was its second-best showing of all time, just one point shy of the record mark of 982 set a year ago. Cowgirl basketball also produced its second-best mark with a 987, just four points shy of last year's record mark.
The APR holds institutions accountable for the academic progress of their student-athletes through a team-based metric that accounts for the eligibility and retention of each student-athlete for each academic term.
Teams must earn a four-year APR of 930 to compete in championships, and every team at Oklahoma State is comfortably above that marker.
